Curious about the way we connect.
Meet Lingo, an independent journal about languages and communication.
Language is part of everyday life.
It is the sentence you are trying to write, the conversation you want to join, the poem that stays with you, and the language you hope to learn. Lingo follows those connections.
Our reading room brings together practical explanations, original exercises, and current stories about languages and communication. You can begin with a question about grammar, spend time with a writing system, or explore what it means to make a language part of digital life.
Many ways to be heard.
We cover twelve subjects, from learning and linguistics to translation, multilingual life, public speaking, poetry, and everyday conversation. Language variety is part of the subject: accents, dialects, signed languages, and home languages all belong here.
The name has a history.
The earlier lingofestival.com belonged to Lingo, Dublin’s spoken-word festival. Its documented festival years brought poetry, performance, slams, and audiences together. This is a new independent publication with a wider focus on languages and communication. It does not represent the former organisers or offer festival tickets.
The historical material is preserved in the festival archive, which you can also find through the reading room.
